Pink dogwood tree will not bloom

My pink dogwood tree will not bloom. I have had it for 5 years, please advise. It is getting enough sun and drainage is good.

Thanks for writing. Without being able to see your tree and where it's planted, I can't say for sure why it's not blooming.

If you purchased it as a young plant (less than 4 feet tall), it may not be old enough to bloom yet. Do you prune it at all? If you prune it in summer, fall, winter, or early spring, you could be cutting the flower buds off --- the best time to prune is late spring, right after it finishes flowering.

They should be able to help more if you can answer follow-up questions about what type of dogwood it is, how old it it is, etc.
