ornamental peach tree has white fungus

My 4-6 year old ornamental peach tree did not fully bloom this spring and now only 1/2 the tree has leaves the other half tried to grow leaves but they withered also the branches have a white fungus on them. Can I save this tree?

It sounds as though your peach tree may have suffered winter injury or possibly has a large canker on the main stem. Do you see sunken bark on the stem?

In any case, the thing to do is to cut out the portion of the tree that is dead. The remaining part may continue to grow and produce well for you.
