Live Oak tree that appears to have died.

Last Nov. we planted a good size live oak tree in region 7. It has appeared to go into shock and turn brown and then go back to green in the spring. A couple weeks ago it started turning brown and the branches appear to be dead. It has not come out of it. We have been watering as directed. Is there anything we can do to bring it back and do you have any idea what happened?

I can't guess what happened, but live oaks don't like to be moved too much so perhaps the shock itself was enough to send it into decline. If it is showing new new growth and the branches all snap easily, it's probably dead. At this point, there isn't much you can do."
