Lilac spread

How do I keep lilacs from spreading into my lawn?
Submitted by BHGPhotoContest

"Lilacs, particularly Syringa vulgaris, do tend to sucker up. That's how they reinvigorate themselves, allowing fresh young growth to take over for old woody stems. But they're not particularly invasive, so simply keeping your lawn mowed is all that is needed.
