"I live in rhode island and this is my first hydrangea (forever & ever) gets 6 hrs tops of sun, some shade at times, watered almost daily except when rains. the leaves started turning brown almost immediately after it was planted. bought another one which and planted it next to the first one and the leaves are ok......there are a few brown spots on the the second one, mostly on the bottom leaves. any suggestions??? thanks...........Lynne "

"Hi Lynne,

It sounds like your hydrangea might be getting a little more water than it needs. While hydrangeas like moist soil, they don't like wet or soggy soil --- so I'd give the top inch or so of your soil a chance to dry out between waterings. That may mean watering only once or twice a week, depending on how well your soil drains.
