how can i start crape myrtle from seeds?
how can i start crape myrtle from mature seeds or is this even possiable. I just lost my husband and have a zero income right now but i have access to as many seed as i want to carry home.
Thanks for writing! I'm sorry for your loss. Fortunately, crape myrtles will germinate from seed. The one trick is that they need to be exposed to cool temperatures (under 50F or so) for several months. If you have a spot outside you can plant them in the ground, that will be your best bet. Otherwise, you can plant them in seed-starting trays and keep them in the refrigerator for three or four months --- then move them outside.
