Help! What is wrong with my butterfly bushes?

Hi, I have a question about my butterfly bushes. I don't understand what is wrong with them. (I am a beginner gardener so i'm sorry if this is a stupid question) The butterfly bushes keep on blooming their beautiful purple color, and then going back to being unbloomed with no color a few days later, then back to being bloomed and so on. Am I doing something wrong? Is this normal? It's a silly thing to say, but it's almost like they are bipolar butterfly bushes.. :P

Hi, Well butterfly bushes don't stay in bloom constantly. They come in and out of bloom all summer. However, each flower should last a few days at least. They generally mature from the bottom of the bloom to the top since each flower head is actually a bunch of smaller flowers. So, you should see each flower fade from the bottom to the tip. However, in hot weather the flowers can mature pretty quickly. I'd say that if your plant keeps blooming and the leaves are nice and green, then you are doing everything right.
