Growing healthy weeping willow trees

I have a 2 1/2 year old weeping willow. I have to keep it LOOSELY braced up especially during bad winds. The truck of the tree is VERY slender. What can I do (if anything) to increase the size of the trunk?

Thanks for writing. There's nothing you can do to increase the trunk width but wait for the tree to grow. Willows are fast growers and well adapted to bending in strong winds, so it should develop normally. In fact, the more the trunk sways, the faster it will grow strong.
