Empty backyard needs a tree

A year ago I purchased a house in Los Angeles. In the backyard I had a mulberry tree which i considered to be too "messy", so i cut it down. Unfortunately, the last room of my house became the hottest room in the house due to the lost of the tree shade. I want to plant two other trees(put a hammock in between). If the width is more than 15 feet I will plant just one. I am looking for a medium size tree, full sun, fast growing if possible, and good looking. What tree would you recommend?

Well it's difficult to make a recommendation without seeing the location. I would suggest you go to our Plant Encyclopedia and do an ADVANCED search. It should give you a list of plants. I'm not sure how many Florida trees are in there so I also suggest you tour some local nurseries to find out what's available in your region."
