Early frost and too late to plant?

I live in zone 8 and have already had 2 frost. Is it too late to plant my 2 fig trees and 2 blueberry bushes? Should I transplant them into larger pots and keep them inside during winter?

Woody plants such as figs and blueberries can withstand frost after planting. It is a good idea to mulch the root zone to prevent the soil from freezing. But as long as the soil is workable, you could plant these fruits in Zone 8.

Now is the best time to plant trees and shrubs in the south. The plants' roots will grow throughout the winter and be well settled in before the heat of summer arrives next year.
