What's wrong with my ash tree?

My ash tree started losing leaves last summer. The leaves turned yellow and dropped off during the summer. I notice that there are raised bumps on the leaves this spring as well as dead material hanging onto the limb. The limb looked like it was dying last year, but it did come back this year although not as well as the rest of the tree. I trimmed part of that branch that looked dead. What is it?

Hi, I don't know what's going on here from the description alone, but I suppose it could be Emerald ash borer that's just not crossing the Mississippi River into Iowa. I would talk to you local extension agent or contact Iowa State Extension for help on this one.
