deer damage on holly bushes

"Help! I live in Michigan and we have had a hard winter. The deer have eaten all of the leaves off my holly bushes, the branches have minimal damage. Will these bushes come back? What can I do, should I fertilize?"

Thanks for writing. Your holly should grow new leaves, though it may take a couple of years for them to look full and rich again.

There's nothing special you need to do to your hollies --- just let them regrow normally. If you wish to fertilize, you can do so with any general-purpose plant food. If you have good, rich soil, you probably won't need to fertilize, however.

Thanks for writing. I hope this helps!
