I have what I believe is a Dioon Edule plant in my back yard in Dallas, Texas. This past winter has been colder than normal with several snowfalls and now the feather like leaves are mostly brown. (In the past, the plant has stayed green all year.) Should I try to cut off all the brown branches, or do you think it will green up again in a few months?
The leaves that have turned brown over winter will not return to their green coloration. However, if the growing point of the plant wasn't damaged by the winter cold, it will send out new growth which should be the normal green color.
