Brown leaves on boxwoods

All of our boxwoods - in the front yard and back yard - have spots/patches of brown leaves. We had a drought a few years ago. Could it be remnants of that? Do we need to be watering them more often?

Sounds like typical winter damage. Just use your pruners to cut away any of the dead leaves and branches. Mine here in central Iowa have the same thing every year. Boxwood require regular waterings the first couple of years, but after that they should be fine and don't require special waterings. Good luck!
