Organic soil mix for herb gardens.

I want to plant herbs in organic soil. What is the best potting mix, and what type of amendments do I need to add.

Will you be growing the herbs in the ground or in a container? Generally herbs grow best in lean (low fertility), well-drained soil. Avoid mixes that are highly moisture-rententive. Because most herbs need little fertilizer, you shouldn't need to add anything to the mix to start. If you grow them in containers, they may need some fertilizer eventually because nutrients can leach from the container.
