Flower Garden

I want to plant a flower garden from seed next spring. The area is 6' x 6'. I'd prefer to plant the seeds directly into soil, not start them beforehand, if possible. We live in northcentral Arkansas. Our ground and soil isn't the best, but I have no problem buying good soil and do whatever else you suggest. I just want beautiful flowers next year. Please aadvise how to do.........Thank you, Karen

Hi, Well the best way to insure beautiful plants is with good soil. This fall or early next spring start adding fresh soil, compost, rotted manure, shredded leaves, etc to your soil. The more organic matter you can mix in with your existing soil the better. Then, till it all together and rake it smooth in the spring after the soil dries out and warms up.
