What would be the best rose to grow in a shady spot?

Most roses need full sun to grow and bloom successfully. However, some tolerate slightly less light. The minimum amount of sun needed is generally 4 hours of direct sun per day. If your garden gets less than this, consider something other than roses. Roses that are most tolerant of shade are the hybrid teas 'Blue Moon', 'Christian Dior', 'Fred Edmunds', 'Garden Party', and 'Swarthmore'. Other shade-tolerant roses include 'Alchymist' shrub rose, 'Etain' rambler, and most hybrid musk roses.
