There are numerous insects that can feed on roses. Aphids, thrips, rose slugs, leafhoppers and more may be feeding on your roses. It would be best to get a positive identification on the pest before attempting a treatment. For example, aphids can be fairly easily controlled with insecticidal soap or even a forceful spray of water. However, some of the others may require a more potent insecticide to control.
