Rose/Winter planting question
I live in Colorado, Zone 5 or 5B. I recently bought 1/2 dozen double knock out roses. Question is, is it best to plant them or keep them in my insulated garage under flourescent lights? It is now almost mid November and my outside roses are under a few inches of protective mulch. Thanks.
It would be best to get the roses into the ground and then water and mulch them well. An insulated garage is likely to be warm enough that they'll start growth too early in the spring and suffer severe damage at that time. And it's nearly impossible to give them enough light strictly from supplemental fluorescent bulbs.
