Pruning Antique Climbing Rose Bush
I have a climbing rose bush that was a cutting from my 90 yr.old father-in-law's mother's rose bush. I planted it 10 years ago and it's taking over the courtyard where it lives. How can I drastically cut it back without killing it?
You can prune the rose in the early spring, just before it begins to break dormancy. Climbers don't generally require pruning, but if it's in your way, clip it back at winter's end. Don't prune in the fall."
