How Do I care for my Knock Out Rose before planting?

I bought a bagged Knock Out rose plant, but I live in zone 5 and there is still ice and snow on the ground. How should I care for it until it's time to plant?

Bagged roses are often beginning to grow when you purchase them. If so, they need to be potted up immediately. Grow the plant in a container until the weather warms and it has formed new roots. Keep the plant cool to cold, but above freezing. An unheated garage may work well.
