Grass in Fairy Rose Bushes

How do I remove grass that is growing in my fairy rose bushes?

I would hand pull the grass and apply a layer of mulch 2 to 3 inches deep around the base of the bush. The mulch also will help the rose retain moisture and will keep the soil around the base of the plant cooler. Wood chips, straw, or dry grass clippings make good mulches. Replace mulch as needed.
