Do I dead head climbing roses?

Submitted by wawrzyniec

If your climbing rose is a reblooming type, it does help to deadhead spent blooms to promote rebloom. If it blooms only once per year, there's no need to deadhead (other than to improve attractiveness). In fact, leaving the spent blooms could lead to rose hip formation, which can be attractive when they turn color later in summer and into winter.
