Pruning Montauk Daisy

I have a large montauk daisy plant, now a shrub actually. It is very leggy and the growth is uneven. It blooms in September so should I prune it back now, if so how much? There is new growth on it, the leaves and some woody branches in between. Thanks!

Hi, The best time to prune Montauk daisy is in the spring, by cutting it back almost to the ground. Generally, May is a good time, but June might still work for you. I might not prune it to the ground, but perhaps cut it back by half this year and see what happens.
