My Mimosa tree

When is the best time to trim my mimosa tree? Is there any thing special I should know? The tree is only 2 years old...boy do they grow fast!!! The tree is still blooming, of course I wouldn't do it now... I just want to trim it back a little.

Prune your mimosa (Albizia julibrissin) early next spring before it starts flowering. As you said, they are very fast growers, so just trimming it back a little probably won't keep it within bounds for long. Pruning will spur new growth.
