When to plant bulbs from easter gifts, ie. tulips, daffadils etc?

I have received several Easter plants that were in bloom. When is the best time to put those bulbs in the ground?

Thanks for writing. It would be ideal to get them in the ground as soon as possible when you get them.

Unfortunately, forced bulbs like that don't often do super well when you plant them in the ground --- especially if they've been inside for a while after the flowers fade. This is because they need all the light they can to produce blooms for next year. Even in a sunny window, they don't get the kind of light they like.
