What annual plants would be best for sunny ground coverage?

I live in zone 6 and need some annual blooming ground coverage. It is on the north side and gets alot of sun. It will be in the front yard in a 6x8 area. I want to keep out as many weeds as I can with ground coverage.

I'm not certain I understand your question. Do you mean that you want a perennial groundcover that will bloom every year and keep weeds out? If so, there are several good options including thyme, creeping phlox, catmint, and sedum.
