TRANSPLANTING POPPIES

I need to move a poppy to a new location. I live in Missouri about 40 miles south of St. Louis. When is the best time to make the move?

Hi,

Thanks for writing. It depends on what kind of poppy it is. If it's a perennial poppy, then spring or fall should be fine. If it's an annual-type poppy, then early spring when the plant is young is ideal. Otherwise, you could harvest seeds and plant them in the new spot if it's an annual.
