Stunted Coleus

My dark foliage coleus have not grown hardly at all in the 6 weeks they have been planted. The other, colorful variety have taken off and tripled, or more, in size. They are all in the same bed, with the exact same soil, sunlight, water, fertilizer, attention, temperature, etc. But, all of the dark ones are still small. Will they grow larger eventually? The label on the plants did not indicate they were of a miniature variety.

Hi,

Thanks for writing. Without being able to see the plants, I can't say for sure why they're not growing. They could simply be a slower-growing type, or they may want more or less light than the other varieties. That variety may be more sensitive to fertilizer or water or temperature, as well --- it's tough to say without knowing what it is and where it's growing.
