Rust on leaves of Hollyhocks

Is there anything special I can use to get rid of rust on Hollyhocks? I've tried all kinds of things and am ready to quit trying to grow them.

You can reduce the amount of overwintering rust spores by removing all hollyhock foliage and destroying it in the fall. Then in spring, as the plants emerge, begin spraying the plants with a fungicide such as sulfur or chlorothalonil.
