Problem with Globe Thistle

I have a lot of globe thistle which has been in my garden for years, and always healthy. This year it is dying from the ground up.The leaves curl up and turn brown.Nothing is dfferent in my gardens. I mulch, water, fertilize with 10/10/10 as I always have. Any ideas why these beautiful plants are withering away? They look blighted.

Hi,

Thanks for writing. How has your weather been? These plants like well-drained soil, so if your area has experienced more rain than usual, the globe thistles could be having root rot issues. Or a disease may have swept in; if your globe thistles are all growing near each other it's easy for some types of disease to spread rapidly from plant to plant.
