My mother died a few months back my sister and I would like to plant a few perennials at her grave site but not sure what to plant or what will or will not grow. My mother is buried in Cleveland, Ohio. There is a large oak tree that shades most the grave site. I need a few ideas of what to plant. The area only gets water when it rains or a family member stops. thanks"

Well in a shady spot under an oak tree, your selection will be limited. I'd go with hostas since they come in many forms, shapes and colors, handle shade, are hardy in your area, and require little care. Anything else will die in the shade or requires more care than you can give. I'm very sorry to hear about your Mother.
