No blooms

I have a bougainvillea growing on a trellis and although it's reached the top, it has not bloomed at all this year. it is getting plenty of water and sun from noon till sunset. I live in zone 9. I have been feeding it with miracle grow. It was attacked by worms but they seemed to have stopped chewing off the new growth. Thank you

Thanks for writing. Has your area seen extra rain than usual or are you watering your bougainvillea a lot? These plants do best in dry soil --- and if it stays too moist, it can keep them from blooming as well.

Is it a new plant you've grown for the first time this year? If so, it may need to become established before it blooms.
