moving plants

I have a princess Diana clematis and will be moving in sept. I have tryed to get another but no luck.I want to know if i can dig it up and if so when is the best time. I live in zone 4.

Hi,

 

Thanks for writing. You can move the clematis anytime from spring to fall, but it's easiest in spring just before or as the plant starts to put out new growth.
