Iris and hosta

Can i move iris and hosta or is it to late in the season? I have to move them because of drainage problems - my roof leaves a ridge and keeps bringing up the roots.

Iris and hosta are quite resilient and can be moved successfully almost any time. It's best to move hostas early, just as growth is beginning . And it's best to move irises in late summer. However, you should have good success moving them now as long as you keep them watered well.
