Invasive plants and the Pacific Northwest

I live in the Pacific Northwest and I know we have a lot of plants that are beautiful, but considered non native invasive. Can you make some type of symbol or comment on plants you recommend so that I and others will know that it is not an option in our area. I hate it when I have to dig out plants- like my butterfly bush and vinca

I suggest you find a local source of info on invasives and become well  acquainted with it. A local extension office, for instance. Trouble is,  what's invasive in one place may not be in others. There are some really bad actors that we will always note in the magazine, but most such problems are local or regional, and it becomes very difficult to address this for each and every plant we feature.
