How do you plant Lady Ferns?

I just bought Lady Ferns. How do I plant them? How deep, is all of the plant covered, how do I tell which end is the top. I have never seen a fern with out leaves before. Thanks. Carol B. Fairhope, Alabama

Plant bare-root ferns just deep enough to cover the crown and roots. If you can't determine which end is "up", place the dormant plant on its side. As growth begins, the roots will naturally grown down and out, and the fronds will grow upright.
