FLOWER ON HOT HOT POKER PLANT

I BOUGHT THREE HOT POKER PLANTS LATE IN THE SEASON LAST YEAR. THEY SURVIVED THE WINTER AND GREW IN THE LAST FEW MONTHS. BUT THEY HAVE NOT PRODUCED A STEM WITH THE FLOWER. CAN YOU TELL ME WHY THIS WOULD BE? I DID PLANT THEM CLOSE TOGETHER

Hi,

Thanks for writing. It could be that your plants are still working on getting adjusted to your landscape, especially if you planted them late last year. Sometimes perennials like this require we gardeners to be patient, as hard as that can be sometimes...!

Other than that, be sure they're in a spot with full sun (at least 6 hours of direct sunlight hitting the plants per day) and are in well-drained soil.
