I know this is an age old problem but I am trying to find some trusty deer resistant plants or shrubs for my new shade gardening venture. I live in Pocono, PA. Thank You, Ben Ward

Hi Ben

Yes, deer are a major gardening hassle. As a rule of thumb, deer-resistant plants have either gray or hairy leaves or have a bad taste. The problem you have is that you also have shade to deal with. I suggest you go to our Plant Encyclopedia on this website and do an ADVANCED search and plug in your zone, planting needs, etc and see what it comes up with. It should give you a list of potential plants. Hellebore, for example, is one deer-resistant shade perennial you should get from  your search.
