Bleeding hearts

I keep planting pink bleeding hearts. The next year they come up and bloom white. Is there something needed in the soil to keep them blooming pink? 2 years ago I planted one in a whiskey was still pink last year but is white this season.

Well that's a new one for me. Bleeding hearts should not change color like that. And there's no way to change the color with soil, chemicals, etc. All I can guess is that the plant you bought had some white bleeding heart mixed into the soil and that's the part that came back. That's all I can think of because these plants don't change color like this.
