balloon flowers falling over

Why are my balloon flowers falling over? They seem to be healthy but mid season they seem to get too heavy and fall to the ground. I didn't think this flower needed staking. I live in Wilkes-Barre Pennsylvania. Do you think I need to divide this perennial? It's at least 4 years old and I have not divided yet. Thank-you!!

Hi, Well Balloon Flower can get a bit floppy. It doesn't always stand up naturally. You may want to have it grow through a support grid when it's young to keep it upright. You can find all sorts of support stakes from Gardener's Supply at www.gardeners.com
