When is the best time to fertilize my St. Augustine grass?

St. Augustinegrass loves heat, so the hottest times of the year are when it will grow the most and need the most nutrients. Apply a nitrogen-rich turf fertilizer in late spring, then every 8 weeks or so through September. After that, St. Augustinegrass has little need for fertilizer, because it goes dormant in fall and winter.
