Without more information it will be difficult to determine what caused the erosion and sink holes to form. Is the turf thick in these areas? If not, rainwater running over the surface of the soil could be causing erosion. Did you notice any tunneling in the soil, possibly from moles or chipmunks? That, too could lead to erosion problems. How steep is the slope? Perhaps the area needs some terracing to slow down the speed of water washing over the soil surface. If the area is relatively level, it may just be a matter of filling back in with more topsoil, and replanting with groundcover or turf.
