What to do with my backyard ?

My backyard is all cemented. What ever I grow dies because of heat. Heat from the ground and the back of my house and the back of my garage. I have sider plant and a pine little tree. Every plant is off the cement and not directly put down on the ground. I can not break the cement. I have a canopy only in the summer time and this helps. I'm sad to look outside to my backyard.

Hi

Well I'm not sure what your question is, but it sounds like you have a tough situation. If you can't get rid of the concrete, your only option will be container plants that can take high temperatures: cactus, succulents, and, if you water, some tropicals such as cannas, bananas, and palms.
