Walkway & planting over septic drain field

The approach to our front door/entrance is along & on top of the drain field that runs the entire length of the front of our home. We were told that we cannot lay any solid surface walk anywhere over this area, including do we define access without compromising the drain field? We currently have grass, the county made us remove shrubs that were planted in the 3 ft between the house foundation & the drain field because of encroaching roots. HELP!

This is a very difficult question to answer without seeing photos of the property. If it were me, I'd ask a local landscaper to appraise the situation in person and come up with some solutions.
