Rock garden

I have a corner 4 x 6 feet that faces south and southwest I live in a suburb of Minneapolis, Minnesota. The former owner had perennials which are no longer there. I would love to do a rock garden with hostas. Would this be possible?

It depends. Is it shady there? And is the soil rocky or does it have a fair amount of organic matter in it? Rock gardens tend to be done on sunny sites with stony soil, so I don't think of hostas as being a rock garden plant. However, if you have shade and reasonably good soil that drains well, then hostas will work.
