Planting on creek bank

I have property next to a creek in Berkeley Co., WV. I would like to plant a fast spreading plant to cover the exposed tree roots but also to stop the erosion. A little color would be nice! Thanks.

Hi,

Thanks for writing. Two fast-spreading groundcovers for constantly moist soil include creeping Jenny (Lysimachia nummularia) and chameleon plant (Houttuynia 'Chameleon').
