LARGE STUMP IN MIDDLE OF YARD NEEDS SOME DECORATING/LANDSCAPING TO MAKE IT LOOK ATTRACTIVE. MY HOME IS ON A CORNER LOT AND THE STUMP LOOKS VERY BAD.

I had to have a large tree cut down in my front yard, leaving a large stump.about 4 ft. high and very large around. What can I do to make it attractive without costing too much? It is on a corner with a lot of yard around it.. If you have any suggestions, I will appreciate your help!! I live in Central Texas and have water rationing.

Hi! Thanks for writing. We've seen a number of ways gardeners have used old stumps. Some have used the stumps as a pedestal for a container garden; others have attached a large grate and turned the stump into a DIY patio table. Some gardeners have painted theirs to look like sculptures --- the possibilities are only as limited as your imagination. ---Justin, Senior Garden Editor, BHG.com
