Yellow aphids on oleander

I have planned oleander in my garden and also in a pot on the balcony. I have the same problem in both areas. As soon as the oleander starts blooming the aphids appear. I was trying to spray insecticides (found on the shelf in the garden store)- it will kill the aphids but it also kills the flowers to bloom. I live in Northern California. Thank you

The easiest and safest way to kill aphids is to spray them with an insecticidal soap. Don't make your own soap mix, but purchase a specially mixed formula at the garden center. It's sold under many brand names (Safer is one I know) and will not harm  your plants or flowers.
