What should I do about ridding my house of Ladybugs?
Multicolored Asian ladybugs invade homes in fall in search of a site for overwintering. They can congregate by the thousands. Like their American cousins, the Asian ladybugs are (generally) beneficial insects. They feed on harmful aphids and other insects. However, their sheer numbers can be a nuisance, and they can inflict a mildly painful bite. Because these are beneficial insects, avoid destroying them, if you find them outdoors. Vacuum them up and destroy those you find inside. Caulk cracks around doors, windows, vents, and electrical outlets to keep them out of the house.
